A PAUL CASANOVA from the 1971 TOPPS set, card #139. This is a great addition to any WASHINGTON SENATORS collection.
Graded by Mint Condition: 7
This is a remarkably well-preserved example of a notoriously difficult black-bordered issue. While minor corner touches and edge chipping prevent a perfect score, the exceptional surface quality and strong centering make it a high-grade specimen.
Centering: 9 / 10
The front displays a slight shift toward the top and left, though the borders remain well-proportioned for the era.
Corners: 7 / 10
Front: Small touches of white are visible on all four corners, which is common for the sensitive black borders of this set. Back: The corners on the reverse show minor softening and slight whitening at the tips.
Edges: 8 / 10
Front: The black edges show very minor chipping, particularly along the right and top edges. Back: The reverse edges are largely clean with only minimal shelf wear visible.
Surface: 10 / 10
Front: The front surface is exceptionally clean with deep black colors and no visible scratches or print defects. Back: The reverse surface is well-preserved with sharp text and no evidence of staining or wax marks.
