This 1955 Topps Bobby Avila is an extremely well-preserved example characterized by sharp corners and crisp edges. The final grade is primarily constrained by a prominent vertical print line on the front surface and moderate vertical centering.
Centering: 9 / 10
There is a moderate vertical shift toward the top border; horizontal alignment is excellent.
Corners: 8 / 10
The corners are impressively sharp for a 1950s issue, with only the Top Left and Top Right corners showing microscopic touches of wear.
Edges: 9 / 10
Front: The edges are clean and well-cut, showing very little of the chipping common to this set. Back: The reverse edges are smooth and show no significant signs of handling or wear.
Surface: 6 / 10
A prominent vertical red print line runs through the center of the card, crossing the action shot and the player portrait. The colors and gloss are otherwise excellent.
