This vintage 1940 card is primarily limited by significant surface damage in the form of a prominent stain visible on both sides. The grade is also impacted by moderate corner rounding and a noticeable vertical centering shift.

The front displays a pronounced shift toward the top edge and a lighter shift toward the right.
Corners: 3 / 10
Front: All four corners show moderate rounding and softening, with the Top Left and Bottom Left corners being particularly affected. Back: The reverse corners are consistently rounded, matching the wear seen on the front of the card.
Edges: 7 / 10
Front: The edges show minor chipping and shelf wear, particularly visible along the Top and Bottom edges. Back: Light roughness and standard age-related wear are present along the perimeter of the back.
Surface: 2 / 10
Front: A prominent circular stain with surface disturbance is visible on the lower left portion of the player photo. The card also shows general age-related toning. Back: A corresponding large stain is visible on the lower right side. The remaining surface shows light foxing and typical vintage discoloration.
