This vintage 1940 Play Ball issue is in Very Good condition. The grade is primarily defined by the moderate rounding on all four corners and chipping along the edges. The centering on the front is slightly top-heavy but remains well within acceptable standards for the period.

The centering is slightly favored toward the top edge of the card.
Corners: 3 / 10
Front: All four corners show moderate rounding and whitening consistent with a card of this era. Back: The reverse corners display uniform rounding and shelf wear.
Edges: 4 / 10
Front: Chipping and light fraying are visible along the top and right edges. Back: The edges show moderate wear and light chipping along the perimeter.
Surface: 7 / 10
Minor foxing and light staining are present on the reverse, particularly near the bottom edge.
