A GENE MOORE from the 1940 PLAY BALL set, card #143a. This is a great addition to any BOSTON BEES collection.

This vintage 1940 Play Ball issue is graded primarily based on the heavy rounding of the corners and a visible crease on the left side of the card. While the centering is respectable for its age, the physical degradation of the corners and surface wear define the final condition.

Centering: 9 / 10
The front displays a moderate horizontal shift toward the right, while the vertical centering is nearly balanced.

Corners: 2 / 10
Front: All four corners exhibit significant rounding and softening, with the bottom left corner showing heavy wear. Back: The corners on the reverse side show consistent rounding and fiber exposure, matching the wear seen on the front.

Edges: 4 / 10
Front: The edges show moderate chipping and shelf wear, particularly along the bottom border where the stock is starting to fray. Back: Light fraying and consistent age-related wear are present along the perimeter of the back.

Surface: 5 / 10
Front: A visible horizontal crease is present on the left side of the card, and the surface shows natural age-toning. Back: The back surface displays typical browning of the vintage card stock along with a few minor stains.
