This vintage card presents well with solid centering and a clean surface. However, the moderate rounding across all four corners is the primary factor limiting the final grade to the Very Good to Excellent range.

Centering: 7 / 10
The horizontal centering is noticeably heavy toward the left side, though it remains within acceptable limits for a high-tier vintage grade.

Corners: 3 / 10
Front: All four corners show moderate rounding and softening of the card stock, which is common for this 1940 issue. Back: The corners on the reverse side mirror the front with uniform rounding and light shelf wear visible at the tips.

Edges: 7 / 10
Front: The edges are relatively smooth but show minor roughness and some age-related toning throughout. Back: Slight fraying is present along the top and bottom edges, consistent with standard handling over time.

Surface: 8 / 10
Front: The front surface is clean with a tiny dark print mark on the chin and some minor natural toning of the stock. Back: The back exhibits light foxing and a few small spots, but the biographical text remains perfectly legible and bold.
