This 1940 Play Ball card is a respectable mid-grade example. While it boasts excellent centering and clean surfaces for its age, the grade is limited by the moderate rounding and whitening present on all four corners.

The front displays a slight horizontal shift to the right, while the top and bottom borders are nearly equal.
Corners: 4 / 10
Front: All four corners show significant rounding and visible whitening consistent with handled vintage stock. Back: The corners on the reverse mirror the front, displaying moderate rounding and paper loss at the tips.
Edges: 6 / 10
The reverse edges show more pronounced chipping and shelf wear, particularly along the left and top edges.
Surface: 10 / 10
Front: The surface is clean with no visible creases or deep scratches, showing only natural age-related toning. Back: The back surface remains smooth and legible with standard vintage toning and no significant defects.
