While this 1948 Bowman remains a classic vintage piece, its condition is limited by heavy physical wear. The presence of a significant vertical crease and advanced corner rounding are the primary factors in the final assessment.

The front image is moderately shifted toward the top right of the card.
Corners: 3 / 10
Front: All four corners exhibit significant rounding and wear, with noticeable softening of the card stock. Back: The reverse corners show heavy rounding and surface whitening consistent with the front.
Edges: 2 / 10
Front: Heavy chipping and wear are present along all four edges, most notably on the top and bottom borders. Back: The edges on the reverse show significant toning and shelf wear throughout.
Surface: 2 / 10
Front: There is a prominent vertical crease running through the player's image, along with various smaller creases and surface staining near the bottom. Back: The reverse shows heavy age-related toning, staining, and visible creasing that breaks the paper surface.
