A GEORGE SUSCE from the 1957 TOPPS set, card #229. This is a great addition to any BOSTON RED SOX collection.
Graded by Mint Condition: 7
This is a high-grade vintage example that shows exceptional preservation for its age. The final grade is primarily determined by the front centering and the characteristic rough factory cut on the right edge, though the corners and surfaces are near-pristine.
Centering: 7 / 10
The front horizontal centering is shifted toward the left edge, while the vertical centering is nearly symmetrical with a slight top bias.
Corners: 9 / 10
Front: The corners are remarkably sharp for a 1957 issue, showing only the most microscopic touches of wear on the tips. Back: The back corners mirror the front with excellent structural integrity and only minor whitening at the very points.
Edges: 9 / 10
Front: The right edge features a rough factory cut typical of the era, but all edges are free of significant chipping or post-production damage. Back: The edges on the reverse are well-preserved with clean lines and minimal shelf wear.
Surface: 10 / 10
Front: The surface is exceptionally clean with vibrant colors and no evidence of print snow, scratches, or creases. Back: The reverse surface is pristine, free of any wax staining or common age-related toning.
