A GIL COAN from the 1951 BOWMAN set, card #18. This is a great addition to any Washington Senators collection.
Graded by Mint Condition: 3
This vintage 1951 Bowman card is graded primarily based on a significant horizontal crease through the center and a severe miscut toward the top-left. While typical for its age, the combination of the heavy surface damage and the extreme centering shift limits the overall condition grade.
Centering: 3 / 10
The front displays a severe shift toward the top-left corner, with the borders nearly disappearing at the edges.
Corners: 3 / 10
Front: All four corners show significant rounding and visible whitening consistent with vintage wear. Back: The back corners mirror the front with moderate rounding and shelf wear across all points.
Edges: 4 / 10
Front: The edges show moderate chipping and wear, particularly along the top and left sides where the cut is tightest. Back: Consistent wear and minor fraying are present along all four edges of the reverse side.
Surface: 2 / 10
Front: A prominent horizontal crease runs across the center of the card, passing through the player's face and chest. General age-toning is also present. Back: The central horizontal crease is clearly visible on the back, accompanied by some surface staining and general discoloration.
