A LOU ORTIZ from the 1955 TOPPS set, card #114. This is a great addition to any PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES collection. Graded by Mint Condition: 7 This is a high-quality example of a 1954 Topps card. The surface and edges are in fantastic condition, showing very little wear for a seventy-year-old card. The corners are sharp with only minor touches. The final grade is primarily determined by the front centering, which is shifted toward the top and left. Centering: 7 / 10 The front displays a shift toward the top and left edges, with the bottom border being significantly thinner than the top. Corners: 8 / 10 Front: The corners are remarkably sharp for a vintage card, with only a tiny touch of wear visible on the Top Left and Bottom Right corners. Back: The corners on the back show minor micro-fuzzing consistent with the front, particularly at the Top Right corner. Edges: 9 / 10 Front: The edges are clean and well-defined, showing very little of the chipping often associated with mid-50s issues. Back: The back edges are excellent, with only slight evidence of a rough factory cut along the top edge. Surface: 10 / 10 Front: The surface is exceptional, retaining its original gloss with no visible scratches, creases, or printing defects.
