This 1941 Play Ball card is in mid-grade vintage condition. While the centering is excellent and the surfaces are remarkably free of creases or heavy staining, the grade is primarily determined by the significant rounding and softening present on all four corners.
Centering: 9 / 10
The front displays a slight shift toward the top, but horizontal centering is very strong for this era.
Corners: 3 / 10
Front: All four corners are significantly rounded with visible whitening and softening of the card stock. Back: The back corners show wear and rounding consistent with the front, typical for a circulated vintage card.
Edges: 5 / 10
Front: Moderate chipping and light fraying are visible along the top and right edges. Back: The edges show general wear and some minor softening of the fibers along the perimeter.
Surface: 8 / 10
Front: The surface is clean for its age, showing only light age-toning and minor print snow common to the set. Back: The back shows uniform natural toning and a small amount of surface darkening but lacks any major stains or creases.
