This card presents exceptional eye appeal with near-perfect centering and sharp corners for a 1939 issue. However, the prominent red stain on the back surface is a significant defect that limits the final grade to the Very Good range.
Centering: 10 / 10
Front: The front displays superb centering with balanced margins on all sides. Back: The back centering is shifted significantly toward the top edge.
Corners: 8 / 10
Front: All four corners show very minor touches of wear consistent with a vintage issue, but they remain relatively sharp. Back: The corners on the reverse side show slight softening and micro-fuzzing under close inspection.
Edges: 9 / 10
The edges are generally smooth, though the bottom edge is partially obscured by a surface mark.
Surface: 3 / 10
A prominent red ink stain or mark is located at the bottom center, significantly impacting the surface quality.
