This vintage 1940 card is in very good condition, with its final grade primarily determined by the moderate rounding and softening of the corners. While the vertical centering is slightly top-heavy, it is well within acceptable limits for this grade level.
Centering: 7 / 10
The left and right borders are exceptionally balanced, while the top border is significantly thinner than the bottom.
Corners: 4 / 10
Front: The Bottom Left corner shows moderate rounding. The Top Left and both right-side corners show visible softening and minor touches of whitening. Back: All four corners on the reverse show rounding and wear consistent with the front of the card.
Edges: 8 / 10
Front: The edges are relatively clean for the era, with only minor chipping and light toning visible along the physical cut. Back: Minor chipping is present along the right edge, but the edges remain structurally sound.
Surface: 8 / 10
Front: The surface maintains its original sepia tones well. There are a few tiny dark spots and very minor surface impressions consistent with age. Back: The reverse surface shows natural age-toning but the text remains sharp and legible without significant staining.
