Description
A Bobby Layne from the 1955 BOWMAN set, card #71. This is a great addition to any DETROIT LIONS collection.
Graded by Mint Condition: 7
This 1951 Bowman rookie-era card is exceptionally well-preserved. While the centering is shifted toward the top-left, it falls within the acceptable range for a high-grade vintage specimen. The surface and edges are particularly strong, with only minor corner softening preventing a higher assessment.
Centering: 7 / 10
The front design is shifted toward the top and left, resulting in thinner borders in those areas.
Corners: 8 / 10
Front: The Top Left and Top Right corners show minor softening and light touches. The bottom corners remain remarkably sharp for the era. Back: Very slight wear and minor whitening are visible on the corners, consistent with natural aging.
Edges: 8 / 10
The edges show some very light, age-appropriate roughness but no significant chipping.
Surface: 8 / 10
The reverse displays standard light toning and minor foxing typical of early 1950s card stock.
